Game Developer and Audio Engineer
PulseWave is an intense hover-car rally racer requiring precise movements and split-second decision making.
This is a solo project I've been developing to improve my Unreal Engine skills and showcase my capabilities as a Generalist Developer. I've always been fan of Hover Car Racer by Matthew Reilly and wanted to create a game inspired by the sport described in the book. Throughout this project I've had to:
- Develop an amazing feeling hover car controller using blueprints
- Create interesting, semi-realistic landscapes with Unreal's landscape tool
- Integrate/create dynamic sound effects that respond to action context
- Design race tracks that challenge the player in ways that take advantage of antigrav racing gameplays strengths
- Design and integrate UI
- Save system for important data
- Formulate fresh modes of play within the anti-grav racer genre (in development)
- Bug fixing
PulseWave is a 3D anti-grav rally racer made with Unreal Engine 5. Players whip around outdoor environments in lightning fast machines attempting to achieve the best time on the course. Fly through checkpoint gates and weave through the treacherous landscape in pursuit of the finish line.
At 700km/h, there’s no margin for error.
